Mane Bliss was created out of necessity for the Afro and Curly-haired who needed a community of their own and gentle products that naturally work with their crown of hair.
We know that the natural hair journey is full of a lot of trials and errors, DIY projects, and experimentation as you learn to care for and love your unique, naturally curly hair. But you don’t have to do it on your own because now—we’ve got you.
Mane Bliss is your space where you can find hair care products and a community that nourishes, supports, and inspires you to embrace your kinks, curls, and coils wholeheartedly. And we’re so glad you’re here.
Where it all begins
The story of how Mane Bliss started began in 2017 when I decided to stop relaxing my hair.
After some time of wearing my hair straightened, it was the encouragement of my mother-in-law that helped me finally take the leap and transition my hair from relaxed to natural.
Learning how to take care of natural hair, especially transitioning hair, after years of wearing it straight takes a lot of researching and Googling to figure things out. And unfortunately, when my mother-in-law passed away, I found myself alone with no clue how to take care of my hair in its transition state.
With my hair breaking, shedding, and what felt like everything in between, I felt like I’d hit a wall and had nowhere to turn for help. But fast forward to 2018, when after learning that my mother had to cut her hair because of health concerns, I decided to do a big chop in solidarity—and that’s when everything changed.
Learning to embrace the natural me
Chopping my hair off set me free! In the moments after the big chop, I realised that my hair didn’t define me. It wasn’t what made me beautiful or special, but what defined me was...me.
I felt and still feel amazing with my natural hair. And at the time, I was determined to show my love for my hair love by learning how to care for it properly with the best ingredients I could get my hands on. So that’s how Mane Bliss came into the picture.
The more I learned about hair care, the more I wanted to share with other natural-haired women. My natural hair liberated me, so of course, I want other women to experience that same freedom when they learn to embrace and adequately care for their kinky, coily, and curly hair.
And finally, after two years of labour of love, the Mane Bliss curl-enriching product line is this summer!
Our natural hair products are made to help your curls thrive with nourishing and high-quality ingredients, and the Mane Bliss community is here to remind you that you thrive best with you embrace who you are. So, if you’ve been searching for your curly-haired tribe to walk with you on your hair journey, do I even need to say you’ve just found it?
